Book A Referral
Booking a referral for a patient to see Veterinary Cardiologists Australia is easy. Your client will see an experienced cardiologist who will provide a same-day diagnosis and recommend the best treatment plan for their pet.
How to book a referral for your patient
- Recommend an appointment with VCA and call us or book an appointment online
- If you’re concerned about the urgency of the referral for the patient, call us on 1300 582 382 and ask to speak directly to a cardiologist

Since we only take appointments by referral, you are the clients advocate for having their pet seen. The first step is recognising the urgency of the referral:
Urgent Referrals
If your patient has had a collapse event, is suffering from weakness, ascites or is breathing rapidly, please call us immediately on 1300 582 382 and ask to speak directly with a cardiologist – we will always book in a time to see your client the same day.
Non-Urgent Referrals
For pets who do not have the signs of heart failure described above and are clinically stable, please advise your client or your receptionist to call us on 1300 582 382 and we will book your patient in for the next available appointment.
