Veterinary Cardiology Australia (VCA) is excited to announce the upcoming opening of our brand-new, purpose-built hospital in early 2025. Conveniently located at The Centre in Underwood, this cutting-edge facility is designed to set new benchmarks in veterinary cardiology, ensuring advanced care and seamless collaboration with referring veterinarians.
As Australia’s only dedicated cardiology specialist facility, our new hospital will feature:
- Australia’s first cardiology hybrid surgical theatre, providing innovative surgical capabilities, including the latest mitral valve TEER/V Clamp procedure and open-heart mitral valve repair with cardiopulmonary bypass.
- A dedicated cardiology ICU, equipped with the latest diagnostic technology to enhance patient outcomes.
- ISFM Gold Standard Feline Friendly accreditation, ensuring stress-free experiences for feline patients with separate cat-only spaces, including a dedicated entrance, waiting area, ICU, and day stay ward.
- Expanded specialist team, now including three specialist cardiologists, two cardiology residents, and a growing support team of experienced nurses and receptionists.
- The latest in diagnostic equipment, enhancing our ability to provide non-invasive procedures with precision.
- A seamless transition for existing clients, as patient records will be automatically transferred for continuity of care.
- 24-hour cardiac care, provided by our highly skilled Pet ICU team located alongside VSS in Springwood.
In recognition of the travel needs of our clients from the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, we have introduced priority scheduling to minimise travel times, ensuring efficient and stress-free appointments with appointment slots designed to avoid peak traffic on the M1.
Despite our move, our commitment to continuity of care remains unchanged. The highly skilled Pet ICU team will also remain actively involved, providing 24-hour care for cardiac patients.
This expansion reflects our dedication to advancing veterinary cardiology and delivering the highest standard of care to pets across Australia. We look forward to welcoming patients, clients, and referring veterinarians to our new facility in 2025.
