Located at The Centre in Underwood (just a short walk from our previous premises), this purpose-designed hospital sets a new benchmark in veterinary cardiac care. With expanded clinical capabilities, world-class technology, and thoughtful design for both patients and veterinary professionals, the new VCA hospital has been carefully built around one purpose: to optimise the lives of animals with heart disease – and the people who care for them.
What You’ll See Inside
Australia’s first dedicated hybrid cardiology theatre, purpose-built for advanced interventional procedures such as transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) of the mitral valve with the V-clamp and open-heart mitral valve repair under cardiopulmonary bypass.
A dedicated cardiology ICU with dedicated cardiology critical care nursing staff, the highest technology monitoring equipment and deluxe hospital cages to optimize patient care and comfort.
Separate feline facilities, with a cat-only entrance, waiting area, ICU, echocardiography suite and day ward, which aims to meet ISFM Gold Standard Feline Friendly accreditation and minimize stress for our feline patients.
An expanded team, including three specialist cardiologists, two residents, and a team of compassionate veterinary cardiology nurses and support staff.
